These are just some captured food images during my first few weeks here.
As to be expected, and without even trying, one can immediately encounter loads of quality cheeses (various cheddars, soft cheeses, bleu cheeses). This place is a cheese lover's paradise, and that's just at your local grocery store!
Weekends are nice. This weekend at the local towne centre they had an envirnoment awareness market. Many merchants sold natural products from hemp wear to jewelry. Also there were food merchants such as below:
Olive stand. The Pimento olive tasted nice.
This is a section of Solihull Towne Centre. Turkish Delight. We had the mint, the rosewater, and the pecan flavors. Charcuterie from a merchant from Cumbria. We bought garlic salami. We also bought a rabbit from the same merchant
and had it for dinner that night.
Another view of the Towne Centre. Old-feeling brick structures juxtaposed with hipped new stores and boutiques.

hey rho...just checking out your site. The market seems cool. Almost as I imagine it to be in my mind...never having been to England! What's new? Whatcha up2? We are in the throws of busy chaos cooking for the masses. Albeit a bit less this year due to our screwed up economy. How is the econ in Europe? As you can read by my last post, we got snow! We are sweating it cause we are supposed to get more tomorrow and Saturday which will most surely put a damper on our Santa's Supper this Sunday. Don't you miss it here? We miss you Rho. Hope all is well with you and Adam. Have a great Xmas and New Year's if I do not chat with you by then. Best as always...Bill
hey chef...England's economy is just as bad. It's a true recession and people are losing their jobs left and right.
I'll add some pictures of the German market set in the City Centre of Birmingham UK (that's the closest city to us. As in if we were "Bellevue" then Birmingham is our "Seattle").
The weather is not great yet for travel but as soon as spring hits, we'll make our way to other parts of England and perhaps other parts of Europe.
I do miss it there and all the bustle that comes with holiday at the club =). Have a great holiday and a happy hay new year!
Hi Rho...just sending a little note to say hi, merry belated Xmas and hoping that you and Adam have a great New year's Eve and new year entirely. Wishing you the best. Bill
Hi,
The images of food items are very awesome. Townee centre is one of the biggest Solihull shopping centres for food and other items.
Menon, I'm new to Solihull so I am really excited to explore it. And yes, the Towne Centre is great. Did you go when the French Market was there? I love the HUGE bread truck that pulls in and sets up. The smell of fresh croissant is amazing!
